Deutsche Windtechnik Offshore and Consulting is now responsible for the majority of equipment services as well as technical management for Nordergründe offshore wind farm. The wind farm, for which construction work and operation is scheduled to start in 2016, will be equipped with 18 Senvion® 6.2 wind turbines and an offshore substation. The early legal integration of the independent service companies will ensure the preparation and implementation of a sustainable and cost-efficient service concept with consideration for life-cycle costs. The maintenance specialists received the contract from the wind farm planners, project planners and operators at wpd.

Full service from production control to underwater services

"First of all, we will provide independent management for the entire land-based and underwater wind farm operations. Our duties will also include maximum maintenance support for manufacturers," reports Jens Landwehr, managing director of Deutsche Windtechnik Offshore and Consulting.

The legally contracted duties provided by the offshore service specialists at Nordergründe offshore wind farm include technical management, technical project management, coordination of divers, logistics (management of CTV crew transfer vessels), basic structural maintenance and OSS, in addition to anti-corrosion work, underwater work and QHSE management. Independent experts from Deutsche Windtechnik Offshore and Consulting will already be supervising the large-scale project management during the building, production and commissioning stages.

Constantly improving offshore expertise

Over eight years experience in the offshore sector, good contact with maritime partners, an in-house QHSE team and decades of experience in the complete installation of onshore service equipment, highly flexible operations - this all makes Deutsche Windtechnik increasingly qualified for the challenging work in the international offshore industry. Service teams from the offshore units at Butendiek offshore wind farm, Dan Tysk, Nordsee Ost, Trianel wind farm Borkum and Baltic I are currently at work.

Furthermore, DWTOC is currently working on tenders for various offshore wind farm service providers for numerous international projects, particularly in the Netherlands and the UK.
