Reed Exhibitions Japan - The business hub for Japan’s growing wind energy market

Reed Exhibitions Japan's third international wind energy expo and conference is taking place at Tokyo Big Sight in February. Wind Expo 2015 is an unrivalled opportunity to meet and do business with the people shaping Asia's exciting renewables market.

With a new feed-in tariff and increasing number of certified ongoing/future projects, Japan's wind energy industry is showing positive growth. To reflect and assist the expansion of this sector, Reed Exhibitions Japan will be holding Wind Expo 2015. The third international wind energy expo and conference will serve as a firm platform for professionals from all over Asia and the rest of the world to conduct business, network and share ideas.

Since its launch in 2013, the successful show has continued to expand. Last year's event was 10% larger in scale than its predecessor and the 2015 version is expected to be 21% bigger than the original, making it the largest international business-to-business trade show for its industry in the country. The best hub for Japanese wind energy is expecting 250 exhibitors and 70,000 professional visitors this year, including attendees from concurrent shows.

Broadening horizons
As well as the increase in the overall scale of the show, Wind Expo's international profile has been rising and more firms from overseas are getting involved. At the 2015 edition, major companies including Siemens, Enercon, Senvion, Xzerus, Bergey Wind Power, Chava Energy, C&F Green Energy, Tyco Electronics and Hytorc have already confirmed their participation.

Many countries will be exhibiting as national pavilions, in which exhibitors will gather to demonstrate the products and technology that are unique to their country. For instance, Denmark, the Netherlands, the US and Korea have already established that they will attend as pavilions as testaments to their respective commitments to joining the Japanese market.

From Japan, Hitachi, Fukushima Offshore Wind Consortium, Zephyr, the Japan Steel Works, Electric Mitsui Ocean Development and Engineering, Olympus, Fujikura, JFE Mechanical, EOS Engineering and Service, Fuji Denko, Chugoku Marine Paints, Eco-r and many others will be exhibiting their latest products, technologies and services.

In combination with the show, comprehensive technical conference sessions and networking events will be held.
Markus Tacke, Siemens' chief executive officer, wind power and renewables, and Yasuhiro Matsuyama, the director of Japan's Ministry of Economy Trade and Industry (METI)'s new and renewable energy division, will lead Wind expo 2015's keynote session, in which strategies and the outlook for the industry will be discussed.

The entire conference will be covering a wide range of topics, including market prospects in Japan, global market trends, floating and bottom-fixed offshore wind turbines, gear-less turbines and earthquake disaster prevention strategies.

Global network
A reception to which VIP professionals from the wind energy industry will be invited will be held on the first evening. Every year, this event serves as the best place for exhibitors, visitors, speakers and attendees to network and become acquainted.

Wind Expo is held under the scope of World Smart Energy Week, which comprises nine of the world's leading smart and renewable energy trade shows, which means that participants will be able to enjoy plenty of opportunities for making new business connections with a wide range of professionals from other, related fields. World Smart Energy Week is expecting an overall total of 1,900 exhibitors and 70,000 professional visitors over its three-day duration.

With the line-up of exhibitors, conference sessions and various networking opportunities, Wind expo 2015 is sure to be the hub for Japan's growing wind energy industry. Make a date in your diary for 25-27 February 2015 to ensure that you do not miss this indispensable opportunity to expand business in this country.
