Wind farm for Melbourne University

24 January 2019

A new wind farm, supported by a group which includes Melbourne University, has begun operation at Crowlands in the Australian state of Victoria. The wind farm power-purchase agreement contributes towards the University’s sustainability plan for 2017-2020.

“Generation from Crowlands windfarm demonstrates the opportunity for organisations to secure long-term electricity supply in an economic and environmentally sustainable manner,” said  Clare Walker, the University of Melbourne’s associate director of Sustainability. “This project supports Victoria’s efforts to transition beyond its dependence on fossil fuels.”
