The time is now, the place is Paris: the EWEA Annual Event

6 July 2015

Paris might be known as the capital of love, but this November it will be the capital of the wind industry. EWEA’s Raul Lanzarote reports.

The European Wind Energy Association is hosting the EWEA Annual Event in Paris this year, bringing together more than 400 business exhibitors and 9,000 professionals from the onshore and offshore wind industry supply chain.

EWEA has been organising this event since 1999, helping the wind industry to grow and expand into new markets. The audience is mostly a mix of senior managers and technical experts from the whole value chain, providing an ideal context in which to meet valuable contacts and drive new business.

"The EWEA Annual Event has evolved over the years into an international platform that allows its participants to efficiently network at the highest corporate levels, making it a primary event for us to attend," says Alessandro Bracco, former global marketing director at Vestas.

"This is the must-attend event of 2015," adds Malgosia Bartosik, acting CEO of EWEA.

Last year's event took place in Barcelona, attracting participants from more than 80 countries, which demonstrates just how international the event is - a factor that distinguishes it from other smaller, national events.

"EWEA 2014 was the perfect place for us to exhibit for the first time with our new name Senvion. We had a lot of traffic at our stand. The event was a great success!" exclaimed Dirk Luttermann, manager of fairs, events and sponsoring at Senvion.

The event this year will take place in Paris on 17-20 November, just before the UN climate negotiations, raising the profile of the event, and attracting top-level business and political leaders, as well as international media.

New opportunities

With the European Union beginning to take significant steps towards an energy union, increased financing and a stronger emissions trading scheme, this year's edition promises to be buzzing with new opportunities. In fact, the event's alignment with climate negotiations is helping to attract businesses, government employees, investors and many other key leaders in the wind industry.

"Scaling up wind power is crucial in combatting climate change, which is why we all need to be united in Paris," says Bartosik of EWEA. "Where better to show the strength of the wind industry?"

With the world's biggest business and political leaders present, attendees can promote and market the strength of the wind industry while making great international business connections.

The event will feature an offshore village and include B2B matchmaking sessions, technical training workshops and a high-profile conference outlining future opportunities for the industry. Networking events are also included, ensuring that exhibitors benefit from senior, high-quality business discussions throughout the four-day event.

"As the leading European wind sector gathering, the EWEA conference and exhibition is a highly efficient and enjoyable way of maintaining existing business contacts and making new ones," adds David Jones, managing director and head of renewable energy at Allianz Capital Partners.

With Europe looking for new tactics in wind power and renewable energy, now is the time to make a stand and showcase your company at EWEA 2015.

EWEA’s Annual Event will exhibit 400 businesses.
