One of the UK’s leading engineering and construction companies – ENGIE Fabricom – has made significant investments to its largest facilities in the UK as part of a series of upgrades.

The firm – operating across five locations in the UK – has invested into its manufacturing and construction facility in Immingham bolstering its transportation across the site, as well as improving current machinery.

Covering an impressive 13,615 acres comprising multiple covered workshops and an outside assembly area, the site has experienced an increased volume of work over the last business quarter, with the firm receiving an unprecedented number of enquiries for its full turnkey services in modular build works, in particular pre-assembled units (PAU’s).

The upgrades to the site form part of the company’s ambitious growth plans which has recently seen the introduction of a more streamlined organisational structure as it strives to achieve a 100% increase in turnover by 2022.

The Immingham site itself possesses many advantages due to its excellent transport links – something of which the business believes really set it apart from companies offering similar services. Being adjacent to the deep-water port of Immingham on the banks of the River Humber, the company has direct road and sea links to its clients predominately in the oil, gas, power and renewable energy sectors.

As part of the upgrades, ENGIE Fabricom has invested in improving its road rail crossing which has significantly enhanced the access links to both the rail and docking areas. It has also made a large investment into its state-of-the-art welding fume extraction facilities that meet the stringent new rulings of HSE.

Delivering a wide range of services – from design manufacturing and constructing modularised units of varying sizes and uses weighing up to 1500 tonnes, providing project engineering and management solutions, right through to the design, fabrication and installation of quality piping systems of all grades and electrical and instrumentation – the company has the capabilities to do it all under one roof at its facility in Immingham.

The business is also under way with restructuring the ergonomics of the facility with investments to be made in cutting and prepping machinery which will significantly improve productivity.
