The Global Wind Summit 2018 in Hamburg is pleased to have the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) as its partner.
The Global Wind Summit is the world’s biggest and most important meeting of the wind industry, comprising the leading global wind expo WindEnergy Hamburg and the global conference of the WindEurope, the European wind industry association.
These two top events of the wind industry will be held side-by-side at the Hamburg Messe und Congress site from 25 to 28 September 2018. The expo and the conference are a high-powered and unique platform for business, networking and information – onshore and offshore.
“The Global Wind Summit in Hamburg gives participants from many of the emerging markets in Africa, Asia and Latin America an opportunity to learn from the global market,” says Steve Sawyer, secretary general GWEC, underscoring the importance of the event. “They can take useful know-how home with them, sometimes helping to avoid very expensive mistakes that have been made in the course of development of the wind industry in Europe and North America right up to the present day.”
“The support by GWEC for this unique global summit meeting of the wind industry underlines its importance for the market, and confirms Hamburg’s reputation as the capital of the wind industry,” says Bernd Aufderheide, president and CEO Hamburg Messe und Congress. “We are delighted to have the Global Wind Energy Council with us.”
A total of some 35,000 trade visitors are expected at this industry highlight, coming to Hamburg from more than 100 countries. The 9 exhibition halls of WindEnergy Hamburg are almost fully booked, with more than 1,400 exhibitors from 35 countries. The leading global wind industry expo is focusing in 2018 on “Dynamic Markets”, “Cost Efficiency” and “Smart Energy”.
The WindEurope Conference, held concurrently at the trade fair site, is putting on a first-rate programme on current and future topics of the wind industry, with more than 50 expert presentations and workshops, featuring some 250 speakers.
