Offshore wind energy engineering master’s to launch

8 February 2019

Tufts University, Massachusetts, will be offering a master’s programme in offshore wind energy engineering from autumn 2019. The course, which lasts three semesters, will be based in the department of Civil & Environmental Engineering and incorporate contributions from the private sector through the new Tufts Offshore Power Research & Education (OSPRE) Collaborative.

“If wind power is to continue its growth as an energy source, we need not only research and development, but also programmes that educate a generation of engineers who are devoted to sustainable development and energy independence,” said Eric Hines, professor of civil engineering and director of the programme. “This is a first step toward making climate and energy sustainability a priority.”
