The Port of Thunder Bay is Canada's Gateway port for wind turbine cargoes destined for Western Canada. Canada's furthest inland port, Thunder Bay is located on the north shore of Lake Superior at the head of the Great Lakes - St. Lawrence Seaway System.

The Port has the capacity and capabilities to handle wind turbine blades, nacelles, hubs and bases as well as other dimensional cargoes. Thunder Bay's Keefer Terminal has on-dock rail access to CN and CP railways, direct connection to the TransCanada Highway, a 10-acre rail intermodal yard, and acres of laydown for storage and staging.
