China's wind energy capacity has increased by 30% since 2014, which means that it now generates more of the country's electricity than nuclear. The increase to 18.81GW means that it now trails only coal and hydropower as an energy source for the Asian nation.
Uptime from Chinese wind projects fell in the last year, however, according to the National Energy Administration.
Projects of 6MW and over recorded an average of 1,905 hours, which represents a drop of 5.92%.
Curtailments and weaker wind conditions in the northern provinces of Jilin and Gansu were blamed for the decrease.
